Carob Cake with Gruyere and Almonds
Preparation Instructions:
- Beat the sugar and eggs in a blender. When the mixture becomes thick and white, add warm milk, olive oil,raki, baking powder, cloves and cinnamon.
- Then add the flour, carob flour, almonds, Cretan cheese and lemon zest.
- Place the mold in a preheated oven for 45 minutes at 170 degrees.
- When it is ready let it cool, then remove the cake.
- Optionally sprinkle with a little carob powder.
Ingredients:
- 450gr of sugar
- 5 eggs
- 100g of almonds
- 200g of olive oil
- 40g baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoons of cloves
- A little bit of lemon zest
- Few raki or vodka
- 200g of milk
- 250g of soft flour
- 250 g of carob flour
- 180 g of Cretan Gruyere
- carob powder
